Exploring the World Through Stories

From film sets to classrooms, my work explores how stories shape identity, culture, and community. I create workshops, courses, curriculum, and learning experiences that bring together media production, critical inquiry, and creative practice.

  • Hi, I'm Trish.

I believe stories help us make sense of ourselves, one another, and the world around us. Drawing on a background in film and television production, post-secondary teaching, and educational research, I create learning experiences that bring storytelling, media literacy, and creative practice together.

  • My work is grounded in the belief that stories are a powerful way of learning, connecting, and making meaning. Whether I'm teaching a university course, facilitating a workshop, developing curriculum, or contributing to a creative project, I bring together storytelling, critical inquiry, and creative practice. Through these experiences, I help learners reflect, collaborate, and develop their own voices while exploring how media shape our understanding of ourselves, one another, and the world around us.

  • I work with students, educators, schools, post-secondary institutions, community organizations, and creative collaborators. Whether leading a digital storytelling workshop, facilitating professional learning, designing curriculum, or contributing to media projects, I enjoy creating spaces where stories, learning, and creativity intersect.

Stories that connect learning, creativity, and community.

Digital Storytelling • Media Literacy • Creative Learning

“Stories have the power to highlight the challenges of this world and to encourage imaginative spaces of possibility through the portrayal of human connection, struggle, and care. If my work can provide anything to those who read it, or to those whom I am gifted with the task of teaching in the future, may it be that all I have learned can foster equal space for imagination, acts of resistance, and critical hope for a better, more equitable world to come.”

Meet Trish

Hi, I'm Trish Jagger.

I'm an educator, researcher, and media practitioner with more than 25 years of experience in film, television, and education. My work explores how storytelling can foster creativity, critical thinking, and connection in an increasingly digital world.

I hold a PhD in Education from the University of Alberta, where my research focused on digital storytelling as a feminist media pedagogy. Before entering academia, I worked extensively in film and television production, experiences that continue to shape my approach to teaching, learning, and media creation.

Today, I design workshops, courses, and learning experiences that help students, educators, and communities critically engage with media while developing their own creative voices.
