Hi, I’m Trish Jagger.
I believe stories do more than just help us communicate. They help us learn, connect, and imagine what comes next.
Every story begins with a question - about yourself, the world, an experience, or belief. Every question opens the door to curiosity, conversation, and new possibilities. Whether we're creating digital stories, exploring media messages, or investigating ideas together, I design learning experiences that invite people to slow down, listen deeply, and make meaning through creativity and collaboration.
My love of stories began early, getting lost in the pages of books. As a teenager, I discovered the magic of sitting in a dark theatre and watching a story unfold on the screen. That passion led me to my first career in film production and continues to shape the way I approach teaching, learning, and storytelling today.
Story is the thread that weaves together every chapter of my life—both personally and professionally. It first captured my imagination through books, led me into a career in film production, and continues to shape my work as an educator, researcher, and facilitator. I believe stories help us make sense of ourselves, connect with others, question the media we encounter, and imagine more just and compassionate futures.
Through storytelling, critical media literacy, and creative inquiry, I invite participants to become not only confident learners but thoughtful creators, collaborators, and engaged citizens.
Stories invite us to pay attention. Inquiry invites us to ask why. Creativity invites us to imagine what could be. When those three come together, learning becomes something we experience—not just something we receive.
The I-CARE™ Framework
At the heart of my media literacy work is I-CARE™, an inquiry-based framework I developed to help learners move beyond simply consuming information to engaging with media critically, ethically, and thoughtfully.
